Woman hit by campus transport sues Ohio University

A woman who was hit by a bus while visiting Ohio University as a prospective student last year is now suing the school over the injuries she sustained.

Samantha Ann Reidy was hit by one of the university’s buses while stop bus accidentstraversing a crosswalk. Her lawsuit claims that she sustained permanent injuries and has suffered undue financial hardship through lost wages and medical bills. At the time of the accident, the bus’s driver, Emily N. Keeley, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian and paid a $139 fine. She also signed a waiver admitting her guilt in the accident.

Reidy’s lawsuit claims that she has suffered a significant loss to her quality of life. She is suing the university for damages exceeding $25,000 in addition to her lawyer fees.
