Widow of Cintas Worker Demands Unsealing of Evidence

Posted on October 1st, 2009 No Comments

The widow of a Cintas worker who died in 2007 when he fell into an industrial dryer is asking a judge to unseal the evidence she's using to sue the uniform supplier.  The woman agreed to a protective order on the evidence when the trial began, but her attorney alleges that the Cincinnati-based Cintas is taking advantage of the confidentiality of documents relating to the accident and running a misleading publicity campaign.  As long as the documents are sealed, the lawyer says, the costs and duration of the suit are being driven up unnecessarily.

The lawyer further alleges that Cintas is running a positive media campaign that would be refuted if the sealed documents were made public.  Cintas denies the allegations.
