A train derailment in Sheffield, Ohio occurred last week causing 26 train cars to pile-up.
No one was injured as the Norfolk Southern railroad train derailed around 7 a.m. Police arrived at the scene to find that half of the cars were empty and the others did not contain hazardous chemicals. Other trains were directed to the other train tracks while the wreckage was cleared.
The train was on its way to Buffalo, N.Y. at the time of the crash. At first, police were concerned that the derailed cars may have ruptured the propane tanks that are used to heat the tracks, but after some investigation, they were said to be okay.
