Puppy bites off infant’s finger

Posted on March 14th, 2012 No Comments

A New Matamora infant had its pinky finger bitten off by his family’s Labrador puppy late last week, but doctors at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus believe they can reattach it.

The baby’s 22 year-old mother was sleeping when the incident occurred. She called 911 after she woke up and saw some blood and noticed her son’s finger was missing. Washington County’s dog warden gave the puppy some liquid to make it purge up the finger.

The five week-old child did not cry when the incident occurred, says his mother. The puppy has been surrendered to the Humane Society for adoption.
