OSHA fines Ohio post office for workplace safety violations

Posted on August 23rd, 2010 No Comments

A post office in Ohio has been fined $225,000 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration for alleged workplace safety violations.

The violations occurred at the post office's processing center in downtown Dayton. The spokesman said that the postal workers did not have proper training in order to use the electrical equipment and that they were not provided with the correct equipment in order to protect themselves.

OSHA said that they found risks for serious injury or death from these willful and serious violations in which the company is being fined for. The Postal Service has three weeks to respond to the fines.
