Posted on December 16th, 2010 No Comments

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been cited a company for two willful violations, seven serious violation, and four other violations after a worker suffered a permanent arm injury on the job.

The company is a manufacturer of ceramic products and is now facing a proposed fines of $91,500. The director of OSHA in the Columbus, Ohio area has said that the company put workers at a serious risk of injury after they failed to properly lock out machinery from their electrical sources. The investigation began after a worker suffered a serious arm injury while trying to fix a jammed machine. A willful violation is committed when intentionally disregarding the required law.
