One injured after train struck car

A man from Florida was injured after his Jeep was hit  in a train accident near the Wood County community, according to Ohio Highway Patrol.

The man was driving southbound on Brushy Creek road just south of State Rt. 18 when he stopped at the CSX train station gate before trying to go around the railroad gates. He was then struck by the train that was traveling westbound.

He was then transported to the Toledo hospital in serious condition, but his current condition is unknown. The crash remains under investigation.

Train accidents can cause serious injury, our thoughts are with the family of the victim.
