The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has been traveling throughout the state in order to discuss workplace safety, injury prevention and good healthcare.
The administrator/CEO of the bureau stated, “We have a Wellness Grant Program, where we are giving grants to employers who want to invest in their employees health, because that makes a lot of difference.”
According to research collected by the bureau, a worker that misses more than 30 days of work due to injury is much less likely to never return to work. This is why preventing injury from occurring should be a main focus at all times.
The CEO went on to report that it takes initiative from not only the worker, but also his or her employer to focus on the recovery of the worker.
Nearly 40 people attended the most recent meeting which took place at the Welcome Center in Zanesville.
