Man makes complaint on bunk beds and wants recall

Posted on September 7th, 2010 No Comments

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is gathering information on bunk beds after a man from Ohio complained that they were dangerous.

The man said that he noticed the problem as soon as he put the beds together and that he would not let a child sleep on it or climb on it. The issue that the man found with the bunk beds is that the mattress was much too small for the frame, which created a 4-inch space where a child could get caught and fall.

The directions call for a certain length of mattress and the man bought the exact size and it does not fit. The man is also a carpenter who built the bunk beds exactly to the directions. The family returned the beds to the store for refund, but are concerned for other people who may buy the bed since it is still on sale in Ohio.
