A new bill has been introduced in Illinois that aims to ban certain breeds of dogs from cities. The breeds banned would be those that are thought of as dangerous, such as pit bulls and rottweilers.
While some are in support of the bill’s attempt to decrease injuries caused by dogs, those against the bill argue that it is stereotyping breeds of dogs. They claim that no breed of dog is born with the desire to attack, but that attacks are the results of poor training by owners.
The bill is still being looked over in the General Assembly.
