Distracted Driver Kills Self, Passenger in Accident

Posted on October 19th, 2009 No Comments

A Hebron driver and her passenger died when their SUV flipped and rolled Sunday.  The woman was distracted by an accident in the opposite lane, which occured when a Ford F-350 pickup truck veered out of its lane and crashed; the driver of the truck, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.

According to police, the 22-year-old driver of the SUV was distracted by the accident and didn't see the traffic slowing in front of her.  She steered had right and then hard left to avoid hitting traffic, which caused the vehicle to roll.  Both occupants were ejected.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 25-year-old man died en route to the hospital.
