10 Students Injured in Bus Accident

Posted on October 7th, 2009 No Comments

Ten students from Pendleton County, Kentucky, were sent to the hospital Tuesday when their school bus was struck by a pickup truck on US 27 near Falmouth.  Two of the students had to be taken to hospital by helicopter, and the rest were taken either by ambulance or their parents to several hospitals in the area for non life-threatening injuries.  The hospitals included University Hospital, St. Elizabeth, and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.  The driver of the pickup was also taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

According to a student who had just exited the vehicle, the bus had stopped to let off students when the truck, which was hauling a trailer, was unable to stop itself in time and crashed into the bus, pinwheeling the bus around.
